Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Storepod handles when merchants install our Shopify app, when shoppers use a mobile app built with Storepod, and when you visit this website.

Merchants

When you install Storepod on your Shopify store, we access the following through Shopify’s APIs, only to run the service:

• Your store’s domain and basic shop details.
• Products, collections, discounts and product metafields, to show them in the builder and your app.
• Images you upload, which are stored in your store’s Shopify Files.

Your app’s screens, theme and settings are saved in your own Shopify store as app data. We don’t keep a separate database of your store’s data. Access tokens Shopify gives us are held in server memory while you use the app and are not written to disk. When you uninstall the app, Shopify removes the app data from your store.

Shoppers using a Storepod app

The mobile app talks directly to the merchant’s Shopify store. Browsing, carts, checkout, sign-in and orders are handled by Shopify under the merchant’s store policies and Shopify’s privacy policy.

• When a shopper signs in, Shopify returns a one-time sign-in code through our server to the app. We pass it on immediately and do not store it.
• Sign-in tokens are kept in the phone’s secure storage and never sent to us.
• Carts, wishlists and recently viewed items are stored on the shopper’s phone or in the merchant’s Shopify store.
• We do not receive or store shoppers’ names, addresses, payment details or order history.

We respond to Shopify’s privacy requests (customer data requests, customer redaction and shop redaction). Because we don’t store shopper data, there is nothing for us to return or delete beyond what Shopify holds.

Website visitors

If you book a demo, we receive the name, email, store address and message you enter, by email, and use them only to reply to you.

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, such as which pages are viewed and whether a demo was requested. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device and browser. We don’t send it your name, email or anything you type into forms. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on. The dashboard and the mobile apps don’t use Google Analytics.

Service providers

• Shopify, which hosts store data, checkout and customer accounts.
• Our hosting provider, which runs this website and the Storepod dashboard.
• Resend, which delivers demo request emails to us.
• Google Analytics, which measures visits to this website.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through the form on our contact page. Shoppers should contact the store they bought from for requests about their orders or account.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
